aihio.

About

The workshop.

Aihio is a Finnish word for a blank: the rough workpiece before the finished thing. It's also a one-person studio in Helsinki that treats software the way a printmaker treats a block. Carve carefully. Print. Look. Carve again.

Who

Jeremiah Agthe

Founder, and the person who writes the code. Before Aihio: co-founded an AI consultancy and shipped 30+ AI implementations for SMEs, trained large language models as an evaluator, and spent five years in sales learning what people actually mean when they describe a problem.

I use AI as a power tool, every day, on every job. It's why a studio of one can ship what used to need a team. What I don't outsource to it is the judgment about what's worth building.

Prototype before you promise

The cheapest way to be right is to be wrong early, on a prototype that cost a week.

Show progress on Fridays

A link every week. If there's nothing to show, that is itself the thing to talk about.

Boring technology, careful use

TypeScript, Postgres, proven hosting. The interesting part should be your business, not our stack.

Say no in writing

If something shouldn't be built, you hear it before the invoice, with reasons.

Leave it better documented than we found it

Every hand-over comes with docs a new developer could pick up cold.
